We are pleased to invite both professional and amateur, street and documentary photographers from around the world to take part in this thrilling opportunity to capture the essence(s) of Nice's streets and stories, exhibiting their work in a prominent local gallery.

With only sixteen spots available, our jury members will select one image from each of the chosen portfolios to be featured in a 4-week collective exhibition at the Tchaikovsky Art Gallery in Nice.

The photographer with the most outstanding portfolio will be awarded an all-expenses-paid Residency Program in Nice. During this program, the winner will spend a week exploring the city and capturing its unique character through a personal photographic project.

The winner will have the opportunity to edit their images daily and work on creating a series that will be showcased in a 3-week exhibition. 

This Residency Program will be mentored by renowned international documentary and street photographer Ximena Echagüe.

It will include one photo from each of the 15 finalists, and at the end of the residency week, 10 photographs from the resident’s La Vie en Bleu series.

Who is organizing this call?

The first International Photography Residency Program and Exhibitions in Nice, France, is co-organized and hosted by renowned international photographer Ximena Echagüe and by international cultural management start-up Gandiva MediArts, a cultural management start-up based in Nice, France, operating internationally.

Gandiva MediArts supports and collaborates with professionals of the cultural field (artists, cultural organisations, creative entrepreneurs) in the design, development and structuration of their activities that creatively and critically engage with the challenges of our modern world.


Who can Submit it?

We welcome professional and amateur photographers of all nationalities who are 18 or older, fluent in English, French or Spanish and are willing to take on a new challenge to elevate their photography skills.


How/What to Submit?

1. Registration and payment via https://lavie-enbleu-photo.eventbrite.fr

2. Send your application and your portfolio via woobox.com/lavieenbleu, mentioning your Eventbrite ticket ID.

3. Please submit a cohesive series of 10 photographs taken within the last five years telling a story of people or places, indoor or outdoor, in either colour or black and white.

4. Each image must be named with your initials, the Eventbrite ticket number and the sequence number.

 Ex: AH8360652719_01; AH8360652719_02; AH8360652719_03

 We do not accept personal names included in images. 

The jury will select the best portfolios anonymously.

5. Photos must be 1200 pixels on their longest side at 72 dpi.

6. Each person may submit a maximum of three entries. 

7. Winners will be asked to send their images in high resolution.


Entry fees

Student fee : €29 per submission. Please send us your proof of enrollment.

General fee : €39 per submission. 

Early Bird General fee : €29 per submission until December 31st 23:59.
